Class Descriptions

Ridden Video Classes

If there are sufficient entries, the five Ridden Classes will be split as below. All Horses/Ponies in the Ridden Classes, should be four years old and over. Riders can be any age, as long as suitable for the Horse/Pony. Correctly secured skull caps/riding hats to the appropriate safety standard should be worn. Riders should dress appropriately for their class. Side Saddle entrants are welcomed in all classes. Class 1a - Lead Rein & First Ridden Mixed class for ponies not exceeding 122/128cms, either of the Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony type. Class 1b - Show Pony Mixed height show pony class for ponies not to exceed 148cms. Show Ponies are typically plaited and of the finer, flashier type. Class 1c - Show Hunter Pony Mixed height show hunter pony class for ponies not to exceed 153cms. Show Hunter Ponies are typically plaited and a more chunkier, workmanlike type. Class 1d - Intermediate SRT/SHT Mixed height class for ponies/horses exceeding 146cms and not exceeding 158cms, either of the Show Riding or Show Hunter Type. Class 2a - Lead Rein & First Ridden Mixed class for M&M LR & FR ponies. Class 2b - M&M (small breeds) Mixed class for small breeds - Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A & B ponies. Class 2c - M&M (large breeds) Mixed class for large breeds - New Forest, Connemara, Fell, Dales, Highland, Welsh C & D. Class 3a - Show Hunter Mixed weight class for horses exceeding 148cms. Typically plaited a more chunkier, workmanlike type but athletic and able to cover the ground easily. Class 3b - Show Hack Mixed height class for horses exceeding 148cms and not exceeding 160cms. Typically plaited and a finer, more elegant type predominantly of throughbred breeding. Class 3c - Riding Horse Mixed height class for horses exceeding 148cms. Typically plaited and an elegant, athletic type between a show hunter and a show hack. Class 3d - Show Cob (Hogged) Mixed weight/height class for horses exceeding 148cms. Typically hogged and traditionally a mannerly yet fun weight carrier across country. Class 3e - Thoroughbred/Racehorse For horses exceeding 148cms. Typically plaited and of a thoroughbred or racehorse type. Not a requirement to have raced. To be shown to type (e.g. hack, riding horse or hunter). Class 4a - Coloured Horse (Plaited) Mixed height/type class for horses exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Horses to be plaited and turned out to type (e.g. riding horse, hack, hunter etc). Class 4b - Coloured Horse (Native/Cob/Traditional) Mixed height/type class for horses exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Horses to be shown either natural or hogged and turned out to type (e.g. show cob, traditional cob etc). Class 4c - Coloured Pony (Plaited) Mixed height class for ponies not exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Ponies to be plaited and turned out to type (e.g. show pony, show hunter pony etc). Class 4d - Coloured Pony (Native/Cob/Traditional) Mixed height class for ponies not exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Ponies to be turned out to type (e.g. traditional, M&M etc). Class 5a – Veteran Pony Mixed height/type class for ponies aged 15 years and over. To be shown to type. Class 5b – Veteran Horse Mixed height/type class for horses aged 15 years and over. To be shown to type.

In Hand Video Classes

If there are sufficient entries, the In Hand Classes will be split as below. All horses/ponies in classes 6 to 9 should be four years old or over. Class 6a – Show Pony/Show Hunter Pony Mixed height/type class for ponies not exceeding 148cms. To be shown to type (e.g. show pony or show hunter pony). Class 6b - Plaited Show Horse Mixed height/type class for horses exceeding 148cms. To be shown to type (e.g. show hunter, show hack, riding horse, show cob or thoroughbred/racehorse). Class 7a - M&M (small breeds) Mixed class for small breeds - Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A & B ponies. Class 7b - M&M (large breeds) Mixed class for large breeds - New Forest, Connemara, Fell, Dales, Highland, Welsh C & D. Class 8a - Coloured Horse (Plaited) Mixed height/type class for horses exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Horses to be plaited and turned out to type (e.g. riding horse, hack, hunter etc). Class 8b - Coloured Horse (Native/Cob/Traditional) Mixed height/type class for horses exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Horses to be shown either natural or hogged and turned out to type (e.g. show cob, traditional cob etc). Class 8c - Coloured Pony (Plaited) Mixed height class for ponies not exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Ponies to be plaited and turned out to type (e.g. show pony, show hunter pony etc). Class 8d - Coloured Pony (Native/Cob/Traditional) Mixed height class for ponies not exceeding 148cms, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Ponies to be turned out to type (e.g. traditional, M&M etc). Class 9a – Veteran Pony Mixed height/type class for ponies aged 15 years and over. To be shown to type. Class 9b – Veteran Horse Mixed height/type class for horses aged 15 years and over. To be shown to type. Class 10a – Youngstock (Plaited) Mixed class for all plaited types of horses and ponies aged three years and under. To be shown to type (including coloureds). Class 10b – Youngstock (M&M) Mixed class for all M&M types of ponies aged three years and under. To be shown to type (including coloureds). Class 10c – Youngstock (Cob/Traditional) Mixed class for all Cob and Traditional Cob types of horses ponies aged three years and under. To be shown to type (including coloureds).

Photo Classes

If there are sufficient entries, the eight Photo Classes will be split as below. Riders/Handler can be any age, as long as suitable for the Horse/Pony. Correctly secured skull caps/riding hats to the appropriate safety standard should be worn for the ridden classes. Riders/Handlers should dress appropriately for their class. Class 11 - Best Turned Out Mixed height/type class for any horse or pony, in hand or ridden. To be shown to type (e.g. show pony, traditional cob etc) and judged on the overall picture and attention to detail. Class 12a - In Hand Horse or Pony (Plaited) Mixed height/type class for in hand horses and ponies aged four years old and over. To be show to type (e.g. show hunter pony, riding horse etc). Class 12b – In Hand Horse or Pony (Traditional/Cob) Mixed height/type class for in hand horses and ponies of cob type, either hogged or hairy, aged four years old and over. To be shown to type (e.g. hogged for a show cob type or natural/hairy for a traditional gypsy cob). Class 12c – In Hand M&M (any breed) Mixed class for all types of in hand Mountain & Moorland ponies (e.g. Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A/B/C/D, New Forest, Connemara, Fell, Dales or Highland) aged four years old and over. Class 12d – Youngstock Mixed class for all types of horses and ponies aged three years and under. To be shown In Hand to type (plaited or natural). Class 13a - Ridden Horse or Pony (Plaited) Mixed height/type class for ridden horses and ponies aged four years old and over. To be shown to type (e.g. show pony, riding horse etc). Class 13b - Ridden Horse or Pony (Traditional/Cob) Mixed height/type class for ridden horses and ponies of cob type, either hogged or hairy, aged four years old and over. To be shown to type (e.g. hogged for a show cob type or natural/hairy for a traditional gypsy cob). Class 13c – Ridden M&M (any breed) Mixed class for all types of ridden Mountain & Moorland ponies (e.g. Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A/B/C/D, New Forest, Connemara, Fell, Dales or Highland) aged four years old and over. Class 14a - Coloured Horse or Pony (In Hand) Mixed height/type In Hand class for coloured horses or ponies, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded). Horses/ponies to be turned out to type (e.g. show pony, show hunter, traditional cob etc). To include Youngstock. Class 14b - Coloured Horse or Pony (Ridden) Mixed height/type Ridden class for coloured horses or ponies, to be either white & black, or white & any other colour (including historical/faded), aged four years old and over. Horses/ponies to be turned out to type (e.g. show pony, show hunter, traditional cob etc). Class 15 - Veteran Horse or Pony (Ridden or In Hand) Mixed height/type class for horses or ponies aged 15 years and over. To be shown to type (e.g. show pony, riding horse, M&M etc) and can be ridden or in hand. Class 16 - Best Matched Combination (Horse/Pony with Rider/Handler) Fun class for any horse/pony and can be shown ridden or in hand. Class 17 – Shiniest/Best Condition Horse or Pony Fun class for any horse/pony and can be shown ridden or in hand. Class 18 - Fancy Dress or Concours Fun class for any age rider/handler. Can be show ridden, in hand or as a group.
